"The Birds" was formed in 2013 by Armenian wind instrument players Norayr Gapoyan and Grigor Kartashyan.
With avant-garde folk, ethnic jazz and folk fusion sounds, the main aim of the band has been to present Armenian national wind instruments with a modern twist. While the genre is a unique blend, the mainly focus of the music is to bring out the national characteristics of the instruments to the spotlight.
